"I Am Going To Tell You How I Tell It To Jacob, You Two Are Retarded"

Image
I won't tell y'all who is responsible for this quote but I will say that Jacob is President Hurley's son :) This week I laughed harder than I have in my entire life. I'll try to write out what happened, but my limited vocabulary and lack of writing skills won't do it justice. On Tuesday night we picked up a missionary from the airport. The Hurleys were there to greet him as well. This missionary needed a place to stay and so we put him in a trio with our zone leader Elder Trezise. The Hurleys went in a separate car to drop off bags, clothing and bedding. Because it was already 10:45 at night the Hurleys said we could leave Elder Trezise's house and go home. They said they'd be out in just a little bit. As we are leaving we walk right past the Hurleys car and the thought comes to me, "Check to see if it's locked". The door was unlocked but the most surprising thing was that none of the interior lights turned on. Noticing that we HAD to capitaliz...

This week was a blur!  Here's some quick things that happened: 1. I buzzed an elders hair on our facebook live #trendsetter 2. We stole a Jesus painting from President Hurleys house... don't ask why 3. Exchanges down in Blackfoot! 4. We left the mission office at 11:00 every night this week bc we had to prep for 18 new missionaries coming in. (We wanted to proselyte as much as possible) There's a talk I'd encourage you all to look up, It's called "What happens when it gets 1 degree colder" by Dallan R. Moody It's helped me have a more positive outlook on life when things haven't gone my way.  I LOVE YOU ALL!! - Elder Legas

"Did You Just Kiss In Front Of The Elders? Now That Is Disgusting"

Quote of the week goes to Tatum Hurley (President and Sister Hurleys 8 year old daughter) This week was full of surprises, good and bad..  Last week's email was brief, I talked about a 17 year old Isaiah who had his 20 year old brother die. After a conversation with him he was visibly feeling better and we could see the gospel start changing his life. We were so excited to continue teaching him and the NINE others that were in the home.  We stopped by their place late Monday night and they were kindof frantic. The dad didn't want to talk (because he was stressed out of his mind) and the mom was pretty heavily intoxicated. We took Isaiah (17) and Jojo (15) and went to a church building to shoot hoops briefly and have a chat. After the two boys were telling us they felt so good about having a new life out here they hung their heads and said, "We are going to move to Washington tomorrow, our mom is having a really really hard time" That took us by complete surprise and w...

"When More People Pray The More Better Things Happen"

We had an AMAZING experience this week! We ate dinner at the Hurleys and President challenged us to go and find someone to teach and once we got into the car Elder Cano said we need to go back and kneel and pray with them. So we did.  After about 2 hours of getting STRAIGHT REJECTED we come into contact with Isaiah, he lives with the Martinez family (the family of 9 that we're teaching). and without going into too much detail Isaiah was in complete distress.  We had a brief conversation with him about how he can find true happiness, We shared Helaman 5:12 with him and his countenance completely changed.  Seeing the change in people's lives is what I live for as a missionary. There's no better joy! I'm sorry for the shorty today, this week was amazing and I'd rather talk to yall about it than just type. I love y'all!! PICTURES: 1. Willow Hurley shot an elk and so while we cut it up we planned out MLC #TIMEMANAGEMENT (also, Jacob Hurley and I ate raw elk and it wa...
