Youth Conference And The Sorrows Of Death

OK yall! I am so sorry, last week I posted a picture that looked like I was in a hospital gown and in reality I was just at the dermatologist. Karma came back and got me for it though.. One of the reasons I was very excited to come here to Idaho is because of the potato dishes they have here. I had one particular potato dish called "tater salad" and I ate lots of it. It was a little warm but hey, when in Idaho eat warm potato salad. Holy smokes lets just say I felt super bad for my companion the night after. #RIPelderHatch 

Im all better now though. I lost 8 lbs so that stinks.. gotta gain it back. currently at exactly 200 if yall want to know. 

The day after this dreadful night was one of the most looked forward to dates of our companionship. We got to go teach lessons and do activities for the youth at Youth Conference. Elder Hatch was awesome, he took on the lead bc he knew I was sick. what was nutso was the stinkin leaders asked for us to go up and sing with like 4 other kids. yall know how good of a singer I am. (like alfalfa from little rascals) It was a really good experience though. thats what elder hatch and I are asked to do, is to work with the youth and young adults.

The next day (saturday) we finished youth conference in swan valley and did some service up at a sweet cabin. I caught a snake up there and that was awesome. Elder Hatch took me to the coolest waterfall on the way home from there. we took some sweet pictures. one of them my feet are hanging off the edge over the water. Mom please dont get upset, it was a good picture opportunity

There is another companionship in the mission that likes to prank us and they broke into our house and urinated in a cup and put it in our freezer. have to say it was kinda funny but really gross. Elder hatch and I didnt do anything to deserve it but we want to retaliate in a loving but good way. any of yall can message me and help me out with ideas :)

COOLEST LESSON/ STORY 

In sacrament meeting a lady got up and talked about burdens and what they are and how we can overcome them. 

this is her story:

We were out rock climbing and I was about half way up a 100ft cliff and then the wind blew really hard, knocked me into the cliff face and the impact was so hard it knocked out my contacts. I am basically blind so now here I am, blind, halfway up a cliff. I cant go down because I wouldnt have the energy to get all the way back up to safety. I climbed up little by little basically feeling my way up the wall. 

I prayed and prayed that the contacts were somewhere and fell into one of my pockets or into the folds of my clothes. I got up to the top and asked one of my friends to check me out and see if she could find anything. she couldnt.

We then hear a voice yell "hey did one of you lose a contact?!" 

how cool of a blessing is that?

BUT WAIT THERES MORE

the man that found the contact found it in the coolest way ever. as he was scaling the cliff an ant was crawling across and was carrying a contact! he grabbed it and continued climbing. 

I can just imagine what was going thru this little fellas head. 

"Lord I dont know why I'm carrying this load, its heavy, I cant eat it, it doesnt mean anything to me. But I will do it anyways." 

I pray that I can have that same mentality, whatever trials come about I will be able to say Lord I'll go thru this anyways. Because I hope that my struggle, my load will be able to benefit someone else in the long run. 

Thats why it was necessary for Jesus to go thru the things he did, so he can know what its like to be sad, depressed, lonely, stressed. Because He went thru all those things He knows how to best help us. (Alma 7:12)

My challenge to yall is to look for an opportunity to help someone out that is struggling. the help their burden be lighter. if you are burdened, try and see how it can benefit you or someone else.
