New Area, New Comp, New House, New Duties
Said lots of goodbyes to Ririe this week. I'll miss the awesome members and the families there. My last day wasn't what I thought it would be like. I thought that we would go make our rounds with all the families that I loved and "hangout" with them until we had to be home. NO SIR we worked til the buzzer!
The things I learned that last day I'll never forget. Because I knew I was leaving I could be as bold as I wanted. I could flat out say "why don't you believe, how come you're not coming to church, why aren't you setting a better example?" stuff that I would never before say. (because I was scared they'd get mad.)
When I did ask these questions not one person got mad or slammed doors on us, they gave us honest answers and I know it made them want to change. I have been way more bold since then.
I'm happy I didn't just go hangout at members homes.
BUT NOW IM IN LINCOLN and its the greatest thing ever. Whats even greater is my new companion ELDER BOYACK!!
He's from Texas but lived most of his life in Pleasant Grove area in Utah.. His past times were playing soccer and skateboarding. He has an older sister and is the 1st in his fam to serve a mish
HE LOVES TO WORK HARD
thats what I'm so happy about. He wants to go out and teach teach teach
what stinks is because we're whitewashing we have to meet soooooo many members before we do anything. the missionaries here gave us two papers to give us info on 4 wards. so basically we are starting from scratch. printing out lots of new stuff all the time.
that bothers him, he wants to go out but we have to do extra studies because of training and stuff.
We are no longer in a car.. and I love it. Its not too hot outside and theres members that are willing to drive us around. we have bikes but theyre trash and I dont want to spend my own money to fix them. (mom and dad im gonna have to invest in some new shoes)
There's lots more I could say but we want to go out and see the town, see more of the area.
In my last email I talked about all the duties I have to do, I feel comforted knowing I can rely on a strong companion. I don't have to drag him around and make sure he's being obedient. God gives us trials but provides ways we can get through them. (1 Nephi 3:7)
I love you all, I know this is short but we want to make the most of Elder Boyacks 1st Pday! :)
More next week
Love Elder Legas
