Service And Baptisms!
This week was packed of work! it just so happened that we were signed up to go to a humanitarian center, food bank and a home. probably put in 15 hours of service this week and it was amazing.
I had a fun little experience on exchanges this week. I was with Elder Romero (Zone leader) and we were in his area. We went by a house because they asked for a bible and when we knocked the guy that answered was pretty dang off and was like I never asked for one, get out of here. We get back to the car and I get hit with "you gotta go back" feeling. The guy was a class A meanie head so I wasn't super excited to go back. I ask elder Romero, "Hey, you ready to get Toasty?" (toasty is an acronym for Thrive On Awkward Situations Today. We use it as missionaries a lot) He says yes, and we hop out of the car. Elder Romero tells me, okay you got this I trust you. We knock again and a LADY answers! She was super super nice and we talk with her about the Bible and about her life struggles and how the Bible and Book of Mormon can help her life. She was super appreciative and we go back to the car. Turns out her Son in law was super Anti-God and beat her to the door. She said thank you so much for coming back. So that was really neat!!
OUR BAPTISM WAS SO GREAT! It was stressful as junk to plan because it had to be in Chinese so our Lady could Understand. She is from Hong Kong. Her son got baptized about a year ago and she really wanted to feel happy like him. The prayers and talks were all in Chinese, It was amazing to see the ward members step up and do a little extra hard work to accommodate to this lady. This ward is amazing, they truly understand "mourn(ing) with those that mourn and comforting those that stand in need of comfort" (Mosiah 18:9)
Helping others is what truly makes us feel joy and happiness. I hope that everyone can learn that lesson at some point in their life.
I am so happy and I just love being around the people here. Halloween should be interesting.
I have to go, we're going to eat out for the first time in a week!! :)
