"Hey I Just Met You, And This Is Crazy. But Here's Our Number, Text Us Maybe?'"

Saturday night we put into action the beautiful lyrics of Carly Rae Jeppson. (see subject title)

It was Stake Conference weekend and Elder Brian K. Taylor (of the 70) was there and asked if I would come up and read out our phone number to all the adults that were there. He then told all the people there to send us (the missionaries) any people that have been on their mind. 

Before I even got to my seat my phone started buzzing. By the end of the night we had 179 Referrals!! THAT IS UNHEARD OF!! We were told by Elder Taylor that these Referrals are of highest Priority. We worked on them all Sunday to get organized. After whittling through the ones that would go to other missionaries in the mission and the doubles we ended up with 129 in OUR AREA!!

Some other missionaries have tried this out and have received up to 50 referrals. It is an insanely great miracle that we have this many people to go and contact. We feel blessed that so many people trust us with their loved ones and friends. 

ANALOGY TIME!

Okay all of you imagine the biggest diamond you can. (For me I picture the pink panther diamond)

now this diamond is super rare and unique to all other diamonds. Now imagine that you go and take it outside to show it off to the world. but then BAM! Rainstorm-Mud-Hail-Wind. Someone bumps you and your beloved diamond topples down into the grossest deepest mud pit. You snatch up this diamond as quickly as you can but it is too late. Mud has covered this beautiful diamond from top to bottom. Now with all this mud and dirt and grime covering your diamond has it lost value to you? NOT ONE CENT! All you have to do is run some water over it and apply a little scrubbing. 

-OKAY SWITCH YOUR MINDSET REAL QUICK-

"Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God" (D&C 18:10)

We are all "diamonds". We have come to earth and have been doused, kicked around, and covered in mud. Satan will try to get us to forget who we are on the inside. He will make us feel like we can't amount to anything. (I mean we are covered in mud right? Who would want a DIRTY, CONFIDENCE LACKING person like ourselves?)

GOD DOES! He knows our true worth, He is aware of the hardships we've gone through. He knows that even when we try our hardest we will still fall into the muck. That is why He sent His son to Earth. So we can be clean! So we can have confidence! So we can be happy! So we can live with our families for eternity!

So many people don't know this truth: God wants you home. 

As a missionary that is the message I have the honor to share with others! 

Like Alma I wish "that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth and cry repentance unto every people!" (cry repentance meaning letting them know God loves them, that all He asks is that we apply the water and scrubbing He has provided for us) 

"I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, [...] that they should come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth."

(Alma 29:1-2)

I feel an urgency. An urgency so strong that I can hardly sit still. It is my hearts desire that my friends and loved ones live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

I love you all. Talk to the missionaries if you see them. Be kind to them. They are sharing a message of JOY. 

You that have felt the blessings of the Restored Gospel I hope you feel the same urgency that I do. You can be a light. You will be a light. You are stronger than you realize. You are more capable than you can imagine. 

No matter how many times you have slipped or fallen in the mud, RISE UP. Know your Heavenly Father will help you. Depend on Him. It is the only way to true happiness.
