Lessons Learned From Others
Hey yall!!
I'm trying to get back into the habit of writing! This week FLEW by but looking back it's hard to remember what happened. I went on 3 exchanges this week and it was so awesome! The missionaries around me are super good examples.
On one exchange I went with Elder Davidsen and went back to a walking area, it was a hot 48 degrees. At our dinner appointment we did kebabs but were in a huge hurry so we cooked our meat and boogied. Sad to say we are lightly toasted chicken.. probably one of the sketchiest things I've had. Medium rare beed is yummy, not chicken. We didn't get sick though so that's good:)
The next exchange was with the AP Elder Norman! We were trained by the same guy so we had some fun stories to share with eachother. There was a guy we taught that was hardcore roasting us and the Temple in Rome and for some reason it got to me. I was the most bold I've ever talked to someone in my life. I didnt raise my voice but I was very direct. He took it like a champ, then in comes Elder Norman to back me up and he is soooooooo nice and understanding to this guy Brad. Then Brad totally listens and you could see the change in him. I want to say that change came because of the "good cop bad cop" approach we had but it wasn't. It was strictly the Spirit Elder Norman had when trying to resolve Brad's concerns. Needless to say I took note right after that. Our next lesson we had a visit with a lady that lived in the same home for 60 years and wasnt a member. The spirit was so strong and we put her on date to be baptized April 13th! This is a 90 year old lady, it's amazing.
3 Nephi 18:32 came into my mind after this experience
"Nevertheless, ye shall not cast him out of your synagogues, or your places of worship, for unto such shall ye continue to minister; for ye know not but what they will return and repent, and come unto me with full purpose of heart, and I shall heal them; and ye shall be the means of bringing salvation unto them."
I ask that all of us will diligently "exhort [others] daily" to do things "pertaining to righteousness" (Alma 21:23)
We never know when someone is going to come back, we dont know when they will have a change of heart. But GOD DOES. How great will be your sorrow if one of your friends came to you looking for help and you weren't worthy or able to help them? Be ready, be prepared to help those in need. That's what brings happiness.
On another exchange I went with Elder Nielson and I love the guy, he's from Utah and has had a HARD life. He's a convert. We worked so hard and it was one of the most productive days I've had on my mission. He's older than me in the mission but he said he learned a lot from me and wants to be my comp haha. I love the guy.
I love that I get to be involved with the lives and personal conversion of the missionaries around me. There is nothing better I could he doing right now.
A struggle we're having is we dont have enough miles to get to all of our appointments. We're going to get yelled at but it's okay. GRIND DONT STOP!
I love yall! I love hearing from you :)
