The Office: "Where's Presidents USB?"

Image
OH MAN! This week was 100% the longest I've had on my mission. I wasn't miserable or anything, just working my tail off. I've had to wake up at 5 almost every morning and gone to bed at 11:30 every night. (Mom I'm sorry I'm not getting my sleep) I love being able to live and work so closely with my Mission President. He gives us SO MUCH life advice and tells the funniest stories. He has the most random quotes too. I'll be keeping a list. Stay tuned. We had MLC this week and I had to conduct and make all the graphs for it. I was wiggin. Anywhoo. At the end of the meeting President gives us his USB (that has ALL of his talks and trainings from his most recent meetings with the Prophet and Apostles.) He tells us to put some stuff on it and hold on to it until our next meeting. I grab it, put it in my pocket and get on with my day. At the end of the day I clear out my pockets and NO USB! My stomach dropped. 2 days into being an assistant and I lose the most importan...

The Good Ol' 1, 2, Scooby Doo

Hello everyone! because of a very crazy transfer situation I will probably not be having as much time on Pdays to write. I am doing well.  Here's something that I learned this week that I loved: Every once and a while, an ewe (mom sheep) will give birth to a lamb and reject it. There are many reasons she may do this, however, once an ewe rejects one of her lambs, she will never change her mind.  If the lamb is returned to the ewe, the mother will even kick the poor animal away. These poor little lambs will hang their heads so low that it looks like something is wrong with their necks. Their spirit is broken. These lambs are called “bummer lambs.” Unless the shepherd intervenes, that lamb will die, rejected and alone.  So, do you know what the shepherd does?  He takes that rejected little one into his home, hand-feeds it and keep it warm by the fire. He will wrap it up with blankets and hold it to his chest so the bummer can hear the shepherd’s heartbeat.  Once t...

Bridles And Mountain Bikers

This week was so great!  I got to go on 2 more exchanges with two SOLID guys!  One is Elder McAllister and this is his 2nd transfer out so he was fresh. I don't think he was expecting how I do door approaches. He very much thought you could only talk about God and that's it. (I think we all thought that when we first came out)  The other is Elder Brazier and man I had a good time with him. We had a super super fun service project and we got to make mountain bike trails/jumps. We probably had 40 missionaries there working on it and we got work DONE!  A fun fact about Elder Brazier is that his family lives right here in Shelley and so I surprised him and set up a dinner appointment with his aunt and uncle. (I got it approved dont worry) it was a really fun thing to see him light up.  He's only been out 4 weeks but he is a really hard worker, he lives with us and so it's a blast.  I did some studies (surprise) this week and this is what stuck out to me.  ...

I LOVED GENERAL CONFERENCE! I think my favorite one liner was  "There is no right way to do the wrong thing" - Becky Craven I love that because we can't rationalize our actions. When we know something has to get done you just gotta do it, there won't be any better alternatives.  This week I went on more exchanges. This time it was with Elder Barth. We had a really really neat experience that I'm cautious to share because the series of events that followed mean so much to me.  We decided we needed to tract and invite all we met to watch general conference, we had little fliers we printed off and everything.  We knocked a door of a man that stopped going to church when he was 16, he was about 70 something now. His sister that lives down a few blocks has served a ton of missions with her husband and is the most genuine person ever. This sister told us that we could stop by but that we would probably get yelled at. She also expressed to us that one of his grandsons co...

Hey Yall!  This week was sooooooo fun even though I had about 12 hours of meetings I had to sit through.  We had a meeting with a referral and holy cow it went so good The guy is 20 years old and works SO MUCH  We asked him some questions that I'm so grateful the Spirit prompted us to ask, here they are, I hope all of you can ponder them. I will include his responses: ______________________________ ___________________ 1. What do you wish God could give you? - I wish he could give me my dreams and help me achieve them. 2. What do you wish God could take away from you? - I wish he could take away my guilt and bad feelings. 3. Do you believe He can do both of those things for you? - Yes, with my whole heart now I do. I never thought He could before. 4. What do you wish He could answer for you right now? What do you Feel an Urgent need to know? - I want to know I'm on the right path. With School, with talking to you guys. 5. How do you feel like you could receive those answer...
