"How Can I Be A Missionary With All This Click-bait?"

^ This quote brought to you by my new companion ELDER CANO ^

OH MAN.

For those who don't know this, I've known Elder Cano since the 7th grade. We went to the same middle school and hung out with all the same friends! (Even crushed on the same girl at same time so we had to battle it out) (not really tho)

He was my district leader when I was only 3 months out and he's made the biggest impact on my life since then, over a year and two months ago he pulled me aside right before I was getting transferred and said, "Elder Legas, you'd be a great missionary if you grew up a little bit." OUCH

That has stuck with me ever since. I look up to the guy and I'm really happy I get to continue to learn from him this next 6 weeks. (I'm hoping it's 12 weeks so I can kill him off)

Anywhoo, y'all get ready for some fun stories the next few weeks.

I LOVED GENERAL CONFERENCE!
I'm so grateful for a Prophet that communes with God and guides the Church to His will. I wish I could write more of my insights right now but the Spirit is prompting me to talk about something else, if I've learned something on my mission I know it's to be obedient to my promptings.

SO.
Yesterday we made all our transfer calls, and for a missionary they honestly can be very stressful. You don't know where you're getting called, who your new companion is, where you'll live, if you have a car, what wards you cover, and on and on and on.

I realized something after an incident we dealt with at 11:30 last night. I realized that stress is universal, but how we react to stress is individual.

When Elder Bednar came to our mission he emphasized being an AGENT not an OBJECT. We can, as AGENTS "secure ourselves and for others blessings that God is already willing to grant (us) but that are made conditional on our ASKING for them"

Elder Cano taught me as he taught a kid when we were on exchanges, We shared with the laddie 3 Nephi 27:29 which says, "Therefore, ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; for he that asketh, receiveth; and unto him that knocketh, it shall be opened."

The boy then asks, "what does it mean to knock?"

Elder Cano explained so simply that it hit me hard. "Well, if ASKING is like praying then KNOCKING is like the ACTION that follows prayer"

We can expect stress and hardships, we all are going to have unique challenges and trials, but the one thing that remains constant in the variety of lifes challenges is THAT THERE IS HOPE. THERE IS PEACE PROMISED IN THE END. YOU CAN FEEL LOVED.

Hope, peace, and love are all blessings God is willing to grant us but it's up to us to ASK (pray) and KNOCK (act)

I hope y'all apply the things you learned from general conference.

Love y'all!!
