Quads Aren't Intimidating Are They?

Hey everyone! I hope your Christmas was as good as mine!  A quick update on the life of Elder Legas: Elder Cano my favorite companion in the entire world goes home in about 6 hours :( What is okay though is he is getting replaced with not one but TWO new missionaries! I'll be training Elder Trezise AND Elder Meyers to be Presidents next assistants! The only reason I'm saying this is because that means IN 6 WEEKS I'LL BE A REGULAR MISSIONARY AGAIN!!! (hopefully) We found a family from California this week and invited them to church and they said that they'd come. When we found out they would come we decided to do a "church attack" and tell all the members in the area about it. It was so cool to see 8 families go up to this new family and welcome them in to the area. They felt so welcome and stayed all 2 hours and then said they wanted to come back next week! :) We're prepping for the rest of transfers right now so I've gotta go. but first here's a l...

"The Fighting Preacher" = "The Crying Missionary"

Image
We had such a fun week! We had a bunch of Christmas parties and we watched "The Fighting Preacher" That movie is SOOO good! Loving others and being kind truly does work wonders in your life!  Because President Hurley is an Auctioneer we had an auction! Missionaries could win "points" by doing a bunch of different things. (Ex: if they made their beds it was 20 points, if they role played it was 15, if they've been in their area over 6 months it's 40..) We auctioned off a bunch of food and gift cards. It was SO MUCH FUN. President Asked us to be a ringmaster or something. Basically we walk around and get people excited and we yell "YEP" really loud when someone says they bid.  We wrapped up the day with testimonies and refocused on the real meaning of Christmas. I'm so grateful for Jesus Christ and the Atonement He performed for all of us.  As we increase our understanding of the Atonement and life of Jesus Christ, making sacrifices will become a...

Missionary Popsicle's

^ this subject comes with a pretty funny story that isn't ideal for a weekly email. be assured, everyone is safe. Elder Clayton of the 70 came to our mission and he gave some great trainings. He shared one of my favorite scriptures but he didn't expound on it. I loved that he didn't, because that led me to ponder and think of what that scripture meant to me.  I've talked about this scripture before so bear with me: The scripture is Hebrews 12:1-2 "Wherefore seeing (that) we ... are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and ... sin which (does) ... easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith ..." In these few verses it teaches exactly how we can have JOY Side notes / thoughts: If you were in a marathon and you got dead tired during the race the only real way to stop the pain and misery is to slow down or stop completely.  (at le...

Hi everyone! I love you!  Here's a cool thing that happened today, sorry I'm not as prepared! Love you!! - Elder Legas (voice recording) We are doing our weekly emails through voice message today just because we have to drive around a lot and we kind of forgot kind of procrastinated. We feel bad, but it's been a really, really good week. We are currently about to drop off some missionaries. They're going to Hong Kong finally for their missions. They've been with us for the past four and a half months. So they're really excited to go back togo to the mission that they were called to initially, just because of civil unrest. They weren't able to get to go out there. But we're excited for them. We're excited to see what they do.But this week was really cool.We had a super cool miracle. We went to this family's house where we know the mom.The mom has a really cool story, and I'll share that maybe sometime later. But the dad and his name is Ike.He's lik...
