Quads Aren't Intimidating Are They?
Hey everyone! I hope your Christmas was as good as mine!
A quick update on the life of Elder Legas:
Elder Cano my favorite companion in the entire world goes home in about 6 hours :(
What is okay though is he is getting replaced with not one but TWO new missionaries! I'll be training Elder Trezise AND Elder Meyers to be Presidents next assistants! The only reason I'm saying this is because that means IN 6 WEEKS I'LL BE A REGULAR MISSIONARY AGAIN!!! (hopefully)
We found a family from California this week and invited them to church and they said that they'd come. When we found out they would come we decided to do a "church attack" and tell all the members in the area about it. It was so cool to see 8 families go up to this new family and welcome them in to the area. They felt so welcome and stayed all 2 hours and then said they wanted to come back next week! :)
We're prepping for the rest of transfers right now so I've gotta go. but first here's a little somethin:
Hands down the favorite thing I got for Christmas was a letter from my parents and my little brother Cael.
As I pondered how important those letters were to me I realized and made a neat connection:
As you think of all of the New Testament stories and all the miracles Jesus Christ performed not one time does Christ give a physical object to somebody in hopes that it will bring them happiness / peace.
Christ says,
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid"
(John 14:27)
"(Focus) not (on) ... treasures of the earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven ..."
(Matthew 6:19-20)
Christ always blessed the lives of others, but did it through one on one time and individual ministering. He always turned people's focus to what matters most.
Remember:
"... to be carnally-minded is death, and to be Spiritually-Minded Is Life Eternal."
(2 Nephi 9:39) (SMILE)
I love the message in the song "Peace in Christ" (I encourage all of you to give it a listen if you haven't heard it)
As we listen to Christ's words, and let the words become alive in our lives, we will begin to know Him as He is.
There is
"... no power (that) can operate against (us)"
if we exercise
"... exceeding faith and ... patience in (our) tribulations"
(Alma 60:25-26)
I'm grateful my parents have taught me that since I was a little boy. I'm grateful that my little brother is such a good example to me about working hard and having patience through whatever life throws at him. (If y'all didn't know this he's had 3 different High Schools! And has stayed positive the whole time! The man is a trooper!)
I love you all!! I'm sorry I didn't take a lot of pictures this week!
