La Lucha Con La Enfermedad
If y'all don't know spanish, the subject line means "I'm grateful I've been healthy all week"
And I heard a gentle voice, "it's all right"
And I looked back many times with no one there in sight
Just angels to my back, my left and right"
This week I thought I was tired, and I rightfully could have been but I was letting it get to me too much.
Our Mission President asked us to go talk in a youth fireside and one question that was asked really helped me get out of my funk. (I'm still oober tired, but I'm more optimistic about it now)
She asked, "What's the point of going out on a mission just to get rejected, just for people to be mean to you?"
I had the opportunity to respond with what Elder Scott said in his talk, "Realize your Full potential"
I said something like,
"Because there are those golden moments of success that make all of the hardships worthwhile. Those rewards come when the Spirit touches a heart for eternal good because someone like (me) was there"
(I then expounded a little bit about how God needs YOU and not YOU pretending to be someone else. You will change lives for being the best person you can be.)
Those golden moments are what keep me going, they're talked about in a song about the personal life of a pioneer. It says:
"I've felt a gentle voice saying "it's all right"
I've watched a widow give her everlasting might
And I've seen an empty soul, find new light
And I've felt a Father's love, in the darkness of my midnight
So I'm not giving up the fight"
It continues,
"In the shadow of the day
There's a hillside far away
But how my feet are oh so sore
And I've given up inside
There's a hillside far away
But how my feet are oh so sore
And I've given up inside
This stagger in my stride
I'll push to there, but then I won't push one step more.
But when I quit my wheels kept turning, independently
Unseen rescuers arrive, and my heavy cart was pushing me
But when I quit my wheels kept turning, independently
Unseen rescuers arrive, and my heavy cart was pushing me
And I heard a gentle voice, "it's all right"
And I looked back many times with no one there in sight
Just angels to my back, my left and right"
I've felt that unseen strength this week. Sometimes life is just hard but you gotta "live after the manner of happiness" (2 Nephi 5:27)
God has promised,
"... I will be (there) also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up"
(D&C 84:88)
I love you all!! Say your prayers and read your scriptures!
Here's some pictures from this week!
