This Is Like Deja Vu All Over Again

Image
YALL! I'm gonna be a dad again! Transfer calls came this week and I got called to Train again! I'm so stoked! This is my 3rd time, I guess Heavenly Father needs me to learn something that I haven't haha! Elder Oringdulph is going to Iona with an Elder that is only 3 months out. Elder Oringdulph was sick this week so it was kinda slow, UNTIL one of our ZL's got sick. We quarantined our sick companions at our house and then we went and worked together! It was clutch. I was getting cabin fever and I wasn't even home 48 hours.  We had a cool mini miracle that happened once Elder O got better. We were out tracting and we hear a loud BOOM! we look behind us and it's a guy with a gun! Just kidding, some spanish lady's tire exploded and she was now inching towards us. mustering all the gringo I had in me I asked, "Podemos Ayudarle?" (I think that means "Can we help you?") and then she just goes on in crazy fast spanish.. I need to stop making peo...

Its slippery y'all. Just when I thought I was getting used to the snow it starts to melt. The slush / ice combo is fatal. Idaho weather is weird.  Life is so great out here though, all of us are getting along and the area is poppin. Transfers are on the 31st and I dont know if they're gonna keep me here. I sure hope they do. All this walking is keeping me in shape! -also I guess I love people too- Some people I got to spend time with this week is Jack (14yo) boy who has some social challenges but loves when we come over. 1. Because he feels like we are a friend. 2. He likes the way he feels when we're there. 3. He wants to learn and come closer to Heavenly Father and he asked us to help him on that path. We took him on a church tour and it was very very neat, he asked us if we could give him a blessing. His faith is growing and that gives me the most joy. Another guy is Joseph(65yo) and his friend Ron(60's). Joseph introduced Ron to the Church but Joseph always gets dis...

The Urgency Is Real!

I wake up at 6:30 every day and I have a huge whiteboard with people's names on it and we plan for who we're gonna see and we walk around in White shirts and slacks in the frozen tundra of Idaho and random people let us in their homes and we touch their dogs and cats. They tell us their entire life story and we talk to them about Jesus, all the day until 9pm. Every. Day. ^That can sum up what a missionary does right there.^ But I will expound just a little bit more :) This week was pretty dang amazing. We found 3 new people to teach and gave out 3 Copies of the Book of Mormon.  The first person we found is a 9 yo girl that has been going to church for a minute now. Both her parents aren't members but love that she hangs out with a good crowd. We wish they didn't work so much. The second person was an absolute miracle called down from Heaven. Literally. One morning we said our prayers and asked for a miracle to be on one of the wards that we cover. That night, we get a r...

"Hey I Just Met You, And This Is Crazy. But Here's Our Number, Text Us Maybe?'"

Saturday night we put into action the beautiful lyrics of Carly Rae Jeppson. (see subject title) It was Stake Conference weekend and Elder Brian K. Taylor (of the 70) was there and asked if I would come up and read out our phone number to all the adults that were there. He then told all the people there to send us (the missionaries) any people that have been on their mind.  Before I even got to my seat my phone started buzzing. By the end of the night we had 179 Referrals!! THAT IS UNHEARD OF!! We were told by Elder Taylor that these Referrals are of highest Priority. We worked on them all Sunday to get organized. After whittling through the ones that would go to other missionaries in the mission and the doubles we ended up with 129 in OUR AREA!! Some other missionaries have tried this out and have received up to 50 referrals. It is an insanely great miracle that we have this many people to go and contact. We feel blessed that so many people trust us with their loved ones and frien...
