Merry Christmas!!!! New Yearssss

Image
HEY EVERYONE!! I hope yall had a great Christmas! I know I did, talking with my family was the best thing ever! Christmas as a missionary is weird. We weren't allowed to go teach for 2 days in a row. So we had activities and played games at home. It was nice to relax but after 30 minutes it got so boring.  Because not a lot of eventful things (missionary wise) happened this week I've been able to look back at some notes from my studies. This applies to all who have made new years resolutions or set goals: It would only make sense that I talk about some ideas on how to make and keep these commitments. Or at least stay motivated. The Atonement happened so we all could change and become better people. God wants us to improve ourselves and "press toward the mark" (Philippians 3:14) Only the adversary would make us think that we are okay with who we are and that there is no point in trying.  We are to have hope in and for our future. Surely we won't know -with a perfec...

Missionary Work Is Like Camping... It's IN TENTS

Okay. Well.  Growing up with all brothers in the family has its ups and its downs.  UP: You have buddies to play with all the time. DOWN: You sometimes get beat up. UP: You can share clothes DOWN: Your clothes will get wrecked. UP: You can get frustration out by yelling, fighting, punching, and afterwards all is well DOWN: YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO PROBLEM SOLVE WITH GIRLS (Disclaimer: If you are a sister missionary reading this from another mission or if you are a returned missionary please don't think this is directed to you. This is specific to the sisters I deal with and the struggles I have going on at the moment.) I have 4 sisters in my district. And with the responsibility of District leader I have to make sure morale is high and motivation is high. (the zone leaders of my area have told me I am on special assignment because of the situations I'm in) This past month we set some goals that were not achieved in the slightest. I went to solve this problem like how I've seen ...

It's A Christmas Miracle!!

I'm all better! Strep throat is gone and I am SO thankful for antibiotics. My voice is raspy but I think it's fun. Thank you all for your prayers! :) This past week I did an activity a lot of members of the church do/know about.  I was told to put a bandana and pillowcase over my head enter a room to "just go"  If you have not please read 1 Nephi Chapter 8. A lot of what I'll be talking about is coming directly from that chapter. FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THIS.  I was told to "just go" (knowing the story and knowing what I was to look for) I listened for the "still small voice" a lot of the missionaries - who I trust - were the voices of "The Great and Spacious Building" I knew from the beginning I couldn't rely on them to get me to my goal.  There was one sister who spoke in a very soft voice, "hey you can follow me." That is what I banked on. I followed and followed and reached a place where I was given a plant and tol...

Sensodyne Where Ya At?

okay I didn't know this could happen but from just SMILING in the cold your teeth will start to freeze! and it HURTS! that being said I will not ever smile again for the rest of winter ;) STORY TIME: On Thursday Elder Knudson and I went on exchanges and I for some reason was DYING. Little did I know I got Strep Throat. All friday I was quarantined by the mission doctor so I got to sleep and do some online teaching. fun fact, I'll be sending a Book of Mormon to a guy in AFRICA! woop woop! Friday Night I got a blessing and went to bed. Saturday woke up stinkin miserable but I knew I wasn't contagious so we went out. It took me all I could do to get in the shower. I prayed and asked Heavenly Father just to give me energy. And that He did! My throat was hurting and so was my head but honestly it didn't matter because energy is all you need!  Lesson learned: In times of hardship God might not take away the exact thing that is "holding us down" but He will provide a...

#LighttheWorld Miracles

If yall didn't know already its LIGHTTHEWORLD TIME!  that means we get to do service for those that might not have the best of luck.  This is a time that we can show our appreciation of Jesus Christ by doing exactly as He did when He was here. And that is to SERVE!  Elder Oringdulph and I were able to shovel a ton of people's snow on Saturday and then when we were on the way to a visit we ran into some people unloading a uhaul. We stopped and unloaded the rest for them. All the couches, rugs, tables, dressers. To the 3rd floor of an apartment building we are not allowed to tract as missionaries! But we found an "in"  The guy that we helped was literally 2 hours new to Idaho and hasn't met anyone and was stressed about not knowing anyone. He's from the country hills of Montana and never even heard of the missionaries before. He is 25ish and wants friends. We told him we know just the place! He told us there was something different about us that he was intereste...
