Wrestling With Comparisons

Hi! Here's the talk Elder Legas committed everyone to read from MLC today! It's quite powerful, and we included the audio as an additional opportunity for each of you to receive inspiration and feel the spirit! Love y'all! (Refer to the talk Wrestling With Comparisons by J.B. Haws)

(Mom this is a specific disclaimer to you) DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME. I AM SAFE. I AM HEALTHY. I AM JUST A WIMP. Friday morning I decided to do some pushups and situps and some shrugs. After the workout I went to our kitchen to get some water. After feeling pretty woozy I sit down and try to regain my balance. That's the last thing I remember.  I woke up with Elder Stowell poking me with his foot seeing if I was okay. (It was 2 minutes after I dropped) I had a big ole bruise on my face/eye it was super funny. I then crawled to the living room to elevate my feet and BAM! I got got again.  That's when I was forced against my will to call a doctor who told me I had to go to the ER. AGH. I got a billion and a half tests done and they all came out negative (Which is a good thing for all those who don't know) ;) They sent me out with some lame-o heart monitor with a cool as heck fannypack. I get to wear it for the next few days. Transfers are done and I'm excited to get some r...

"This Is Too Good To Be True. I'm Waiting For Something Bad To Happen"

President said that ^ in a meeting.... AND THEN IT DID (only 24 hours later) - An elder punched another elder in the face and gave him a black eye. (no ET, they laugh about it now)  - We had to emergency some Elders out of Jackson, silly choices were made but everything was resolved - Some other Elders got a gun pulled on them and the person that did it knows exactly where they live and what car they have. right after the incident the man went missing and the Elders saw the guy driving slowly past their house. (They got ETed as well) Scary stuff but we hope everything is resolved! The elders that went thru it are champs! I had a few AMAZING exchanges this week. But the neatest thing that happened missionary wise is yesterday we took a man and his family of 6 to the visitors center. Background: Everyone in the family extremely active except for him, in fact, he's not even a member. He's been thru 8 sets of missionaries actually. About a week ago we had dinner at their place and ...

^ that's a quote from our Mission President when we called him and told him we were going to be home at 11 because of some exchanges. (He got "mad" at us for being late but then said he was still in Blackfoot having the time of his life)  I got to go on a few exchanges this week and it was so much fun, yall probably remember some of my Elder Trezise stories but he got to come work in our area. It was so fun, we had to take some missionaries to the airport and we contacted some SUPER solid referrals! He's really helped me grow as a missionary. We had some dang good talks.  I also got to go with Elder Steele!! (another one I've talked about!) I got to go to his area and he showed me the ropes! we talked to a ton of people and set up 4 solid appointments for him to go back to. (we did this all between 6-8:30) in that afternoon we had to deal with a missionary that punched a hole in a wall and scared his/her companion half to death. (I use his/her to keep confidences)...

WHAT A WEEK! We had 2 Zone Conferences and an MLC this week. In between all that we also had to drop off our beloved companion Elder Norman. He will be missed.  Story Time.  We knew our topic of training for zone conference about 2 weeks before the meeting. (That's realllllyyyyy early) So. We (Me, Elder Norman, and Elder Stowell) thought and pondered about what we could do to make "THE MOST LEGENDARY TRAINING EVER" (that was our first problem)  Throughout the week we focused our studies around it, when we got home we made slide shows for it, we found videos and tried applying them to this training. We knew we had to be done by Tuesday at 5am and so Monday night we decided to start wrapping it up. Man oh man.  D&C 9:9 lived true to us. We MAJORLY got hit with "a stupor of thought" where all three of us couldn't come to a conclusion.  After about 25 minutes of wrestling with what we needed to end with Elder Norman and Stowell said, "why don't we j...
