Come What May, And Love It

Image
Hey everyone!  This week was a doozie. But surprisingly one where I learned more than I probably ever have. I have grown to have the BIGGEST appreciation for the Bible and what it teaches. (Shout out to Elder Ammon Garrison for helping me set a goal to read through the New Testament) I'll share what I've learned after I try and paint a picture as to what the heck is happening here in Rexburg Idaho. Rexburg is FULL of literally the best members around, people that will go out and knock on doors for us. Members that would drop anything just to give us a ride somewhere. With all the craziness that's happened, our Mission President told us we needed to go and buy 2 weeks worth of food storage (just in case we have to be quarantined). This was before anything even got to Idaho so we weren't super worried but went anyways. NOT A SINGLE EGG OR THING OF BUTTER IN ALL OF WALMART. pretty crazy. Members have told us we can go shopping at their houses if we need to so that's su...

Just Pics!

Hey Y'all! It was an amazing week, I'm just super busy and want to spend time on the people I'm around! We found 2 new people to teach and it's getting warmer. What more could I ask for? I'm SO HAPPY. 1. Our Zones cereal activity last week! It was so much fun! 2. Letters Niah wrote us, "Dear Elders, thank you for helping me learn about Heavenly Father and thank you for all of the notes and candies! PS. I think that you having one arm is REALLY COOL"  3. District Lunch! I look fat in this idk why. 4. Brother Trane and Dallas Trane from LINCOLN drove me out to Rexburg after a baptism in Ammon. I love these 2 so much! 5-6. We had a youth activity and I got to go with CODY HANSEN and with HUDSON SKINNER. These are 2 of the greatest kids around. I love em to death! 7. BP, Jordan Davis, and JD (All IIFM Returned Missionaries) came and listened to a talk we gave in sacrament. I LOVE THESE GUYS 8. Did y'all know I used to show pigs!? I know so much about them ...

Shorty

Hey everyone!  This is gonna be super short because I already talked to my fam and because I'm really excited about our zone activity today! We're having a "Favorite Childhood Cereal Party" and we're gonna have a bunch of random games associated with it. The Sisters in our zone came up with it. They're the best.  We had Zone Conference & MLC this week! It was inspiring as heck. I'm more motivated than ever to be bold with those that we are teaching and with those that we will begin to find. It was so cool to see that the second our companionship made the decision to be bold and to be persistent the Lord blessed us with miracles! We found a couple to teach that we literally knocked in to! (That's right y'all, tracting is the most effective method out there. JKJK) but the lady was SO MEAN at first but then after a little conversation we ended up in the house, sharing a message, saying a prayer, and then TAKING A PICTURE! They're so genuine! Y...

An American, A Tongan, And A 1 Armed Chinese Man Walk Into A Church Building

Sounds like the beginning of a funny joke huh!? In reality that's just our companionship now!! Elder McGuire is back in the mission! He previously was serving in Hong Kong but then he got the Corona Virus so he got sent here! (Not really, he went through quarantine and everything so he's safe) Our week was so fun! But SO COLD!  The cold was the means of a super amazing miracle though!  Before I tell the miracle I want to give yall a fun fact!  Did y'all know that if you have a facemask on the steam from your breath will go up and stick to your eyelashes and then bc your eyes are exposed to the wind the steam will freeze and you'll get ice chunks that weigh your eyes down?? It's a phenomenon Elder 'Umu likes to call, "oku fu'u momoko 'aupito" (translation: It's freezing out here!) So, there we were, scraping ice off our eyes and getting to our next appointment. We walk past a house that has lights on and in the window in the kitchen we see a...

I Know It's True. Therefore, What?

Image
Yesterday was one of the most Spiritual days I've had on my mission. I now have a new favorite hymn. At a fireside all the missionaries that were there got invited to sing a song called "I Believe in Christ". I wish so bad the appreciation I have for that song could be expressed in my voice. Or even words as I write y'all today. It says, "I believe in Christ - my Lord my God! [...] I'll worship him with all my might; He is the source of truth and light."  In the 15 seconds it took to sing that line, 22 months worth of memories flashed into my mind. Times where I've felt encouraged for no reason came to me and I recognized that it was because of Christ. It goes on, "I believe in Christ; so come what may!"  Never before had I felt so motivated to give up everything to my God. With the little bit of time I have left I know the sacrifices I make will be worth it in the end. Whatever comes, I will love it :) "And now behold, I say unto you ...
